Can We Sleep After Half An Hour After Doing Pranayama?

Please answer my questions. 1. After completing pranayama how much time I can sleep? 2. Can I do pranayama in evening time between 6pm to 8pm? 3. Can we take shower, drink tea or juice half an hour after completing pranayama?


Answer

1. After completing pranayama how much time I can sleep? I think you wanted to ask how much should be the time interval between finishing pranayama and going to sleep. There is no such time limit. Once you complete pranayama, take rest in shavasana, and do meditation if you so wish. After that you can straightway go to sleep if you do not have to take meals.

2. Can I do pranayama in evening time between 6pm to 8pm? Yes, you can do pranayama between 6 PM to 8 PM provided your stomach is empty.

3. Can we take shower, drink tea or juice half an hour after completing pranayama? Yes, you can do that.

Sleeping After Yoga Practice

I go to sleep late at night. In the morning I wake up and do yoga. After that I feel very sleepy. Can I sleep after my yoga session in the morning?

Hello Aishwarya, you can sleep after your yoga session. However it is recommended that if possible sleep early at night, or sleep an hour extra and do yoga. Yoga practice will be more beneficial if you get a good sleep during the night and you wake up feeling fresh in the morning.
