How much time should I sleep as per Yoga?
Answer
Whether you do yoga or not, all adults must take seven to eight hours of sleep.
Most of the yoga practitioners sleep latest by 10 P.M and get up by 5 A.M or 6 A.M. Still better option is to sleep at 9 P.M and get up at 4 A.M. However for working people, sleep time needs to be adjusted as per the working hours.
With regular yoga practice, your sleep will get better and you will feel relaxed after getting up in the morning. It is also advisable to eat dinner early to enjoy sound sleep.
Your body is the best indicator whether you are taking adequate sleep. In case, you feel fresh and relaxed after getting up in the morning, it means you are sleeping well.
If you are not taking adequate sleep, you will feel tired whole day, you will not enjoy doing yoga and yoga practice will not produce desired benefits.
You must remember that sleep deficit builds up cumulatively. In case, you are not getting enough sleep for 2-3 consecutive nights, it is better to relax and not do yoga till you find adequate time to cover up the sleep deficit.
Hope this helps
