Drinking Water Before Pranayama
Hello, I am Poonam. First of all, I want to tell that your website is very very helpful. I would like to ask a question regarding pranayama. Is it ok to drink water before pranayama because I have a habit of drinking water of 2 glasses in the morning. I drink water and then after two minutes I start doing pranayama. Is it ok or do I have to include a gap between water and pranayama. I'll be thankful for your response.

Pranayama should be done on empty stomach. Ideally you should do pranayama at least 30 minutes after drinking water. I suggest you drink your water as soon as you get up, then clear your bowels and freshen up for yoga. Some people even take a bath before yoga (not mandatory, depends on personal choice)
In hot weather, if you are too thirsty you can drink half a cup of water before starting pranayama.
