I am a beginner and am overweight. As I look to build my strength, I find myself working hard to hold poses and can not concentrate on proper breathing. Which should come first? Concentration on my poses or concentration on my breathing?
Initially when you are not used to yoga poses, you may not be able to regulate your breath. If muscles do not have adequate strength, while attaining a pose, beginners may breathe faster than experienced practitioners.
Therefore, concentrate on your pose initially while learning a pose. After sufficient practice you can concentrate on proper breathing for a particular pose.
