Yoga Nidra After Meals

Shall I do Yoganidra after meal?

Answer

No, yoga nidra should be practiced on an empty stomach and there should be a gap of at least three hours after a meal. In yoga nidra body temperature drops which slows down digestion.

There is a need to stay awake and not to sleep during yoga nidra. However, after meals you may feel sleepy after eating food and possibility of your going to sleep while doing yoga nidra is very high. Sleeping during yoga nidra is the biggest hurdle in yoga nidra practice.

Therefore, it is advisable not to practice yoga nidra after meals.

Hope this helps.
